After the storms and Flowers

After the bad storms last week we had so many trees uprooted. I got a few shots around town. This part of Grace was blocked off because a huge tree blocked the road
It didn't bother the poor tree near the hospital, I hate looking at how they massacred it around the electric lines!!
This was the tree at the hospital and below is a lot they are piling up some of the trees and limbs. I wish I had gotten pictures of the Children's Home but they cleaned it up quickly. It was very bad. Several houses were hit all around town. The last one is a house above the hospital that a tree fell across the street and hit, I really wish you could see the roots on these pictures!




NOW here are some of my plants. I planted things to attract humming birds and butterflies. I have a section with zinnias which are my favorite. They surround my butterfly bush. I put bee balm near two of my roses. The one I was most concerned about has 2 buds!
At the front with my other roses I put red and purple Verbena, Phlox, Dianthus and purple Petunias. I also have some Pineapple mint and other mint I brought over from my old house.
I put a Blue Angel Columbine at my backdoor in a cement planter and filled hanging baskets to put at my bird feeders with Salvia, Ageratum and my favorite Nicotiana called Hummingbird II Rose.
I will get a few more herbs I think. My friend Tim said I could have a pole for my feeders he would bring me. I am having to fill up the 2 I have Every Day! They are small though.
Well I am going to see what my friends have been up to, LOL, and get ready for bed.

I have been so busy today! I started out my favorite way and went to a yard sale at my Grandmother's church and got 3 wooden dining chairs for $9. Now when we have friends over we don't have to wheel over the computer chairs, LOL!
When I got home I started cleaning the garage and got a lot thrown away and more room. I still have to go through boxes I want to price for a yard sale.
I did do these two pages when I got up early this morning. They are from Charli's birth and I used In Memoriam by Rina Kroes and Kimmi Stewart @ SBE.
After Les got off work we finished up the garage, went to see my Grandmother, ate at China Garden and then we went over to play with Charli. She was in a silly mood, I took her some Leap Frog toys and a Magna Doodle and she had a blast! She has loves to play Hop on Pop. She will try her best to jump!
I took some pictures of my flowers and will post later when I get more time.

I found a wonderful new site since I have been doing Garden Girl's Designs called Scrapable! This page made with Squeaky Clean was done for a challenge to make your bottom paper show through, I love how it turned out! Her kits are so much fun to work with!

I almost hate for this week to end, LOL, my 'wild child' has been on vacation and for a couple of days we only had 4 kids and it has been a good, quiet week! My new child Mason is wonderful! He is so full of smiles and we have really bonded!

Les and I went and got some more plants yesterday, the ones I tried to start didn't do so well, that was my fault because I left them outside and covered with plastic instead of bringing them in! I bought things that are for butterfly and hummingbird gardens. When I get off I will get to work, LOL!

Pigtails

More pictures of Charli from Gina's camera, she won't usually let Gina do her hair but she sat in my lap when Gina did mine and let her put her hair up. She is not very happy after she got home I guess, LOL!

This is the book I found at the library on bird watching, it is wonderful! Tells foods the birds really like and even how to make some simple feeders.
I'm glad it is getting warmer and no rain! I took some pictures of the uprooted trees around town! We had many old, big trees uprooted including the one at the hospital, one that destroyed a house 2 miles from us (the hospital is less than a mile away from my house) and the Children's Home lost many and was a mess! There is a lot near the house they have piled up with trees! I will share the pictures later. There were a couple of tornadoes that touched down: we were blessed they didn't get any closer to us!

I can't wait to scrap these pictures! I got them from Gina's camera along with others I will share. I was happy that Marie came to see us yesterday after Gina cut her hair. Charli was real sweet to her, I was very happy, as much as I adore the child she is not friendly to those she doesn't know well.
Mama, Jeff and I went to Fuji Express to eat after I kept Charli. Mama and I might go on a day trip Saturday, that will be fun!

I made this using In Memoriam which is by Rina Kroes and Kimmi Stewart I made 6 pages with this kit. I was finding pictures from last year and this year. It is probably the best kit I own! So many beautiful pieces and colors!
Had a great day at work yesterday, had 4 kids! I am getting a new assistant who is wonderful! She spent some time with us, I am going to miss Amanda but am glad to have Cassadra!
I can't wait to see Charli today! It really makes my week!

Saturday Les hung my Hummingbird feeder and they started coming up right away! Although the are more timid that the finches which are quickly emptying the feeder I did manage to get this shot!
I usually get a big bag of food at Triangle hardware but I might go to the Co-op and price it, I split it between here and school so it is taking a lot! I know they are supposed to slow down and eat bugs and things but I am so enjoying them!

Easter

EASTER Sunday has been quiet, Gina's family was the only family joining us at church and Les had to go to work so no lunch or anything special. We have communion tonight so I guess I will go sit with Tim and Leighanne since we take it by families. My younger sister had minor surgery this week but she is doing fine.
This is Charli with her Easter basket from us, I was good, no stuffed animals or chocolate. I got her a cute book and put mine and her pictures in the back. When you turn the pages you see our pictures! I also find a yellow duck made from white chocolate, a Dr Seuss toothbrush and some hairbows.
I also printed a paper pocketbook with her picture on it, it was just for fun, she has it in her hand in the picture below.
The bottom picture is of most of the kids at church this morning! It is getting harder to get a good group picture, LOL!

Just wanted to post some pictures from the Egg Hunt today! Charli had a wonderful time and was a very good girl! I hope you enjoyed them!

Les really did a great thing fixing my feeders right outside my window! What close up shots I can get now! The finches are all the time stopping and I have had a few Carolina Chickadees, too. I told him I want to expand and he said he will figure something out.
Last night we had a bad storm! We lost power for a few hours so at 9 we went to bed. The hail really hit but it was not to big. My MIL called and said a tornado hit the hospital but we live a mile from there and it didn't get that bad and the paper said one hit Calhoun Falls which is about 40 miles away so I don't think that was accurate.
I am getting ready to go with Trey and Charli to her first Egg Hunt! I took some eggs over so he could let her practice, LOL! I LOVE the church egg hunt! They have thousands of eggs and I get some of the best pictures!

I am really Blessed to be able to work with Rina and Kimmi's kits! These are from a Collab between the two called IN MEMORIAM it is Amazing! A huge rage of colors and elements.
I took these flower/insect photos at Park seed last year, the paper on the middle one is recolored a little to match the flower (the advantage of digital scrapping)
The other is Gina 5 years ago at her graduation the Word Art is also by Rina for this week's Scripture challenge at SBE

Little Silver Sandals

Aren't these just so adorable! I just love them! Charli liked them, too, and liked the attention when i told her how cute they were, LOL! Gina is going to have her a "shoe nut" just like she is, yesterday she had a a cute pair of crocs with a bunny on them! Just too cute!

I got my pages done with Perfectly Natural by Connie Prince I think they turned out really well. I found out I can get some good shots out my window, I told Les he needs to rearrange a little so I can get clear pictures. I am so close that the photos where clear.
I simply must share pictures of Charli's new silver sandals, will do later.

I slept some better last night, sinuses are making my nose bleed so got up once to use saline spray. I am ready to get in my hot tub and wash my hair, I'll feel much better, then.
I didn't get online much last night. We had friends from church over so Les could fix the brakes on their car and we had supper together. It was nice but I have to catch up tonight when I get home from Charli's. I have a good bit to work on and when I post Connie's kits I have to place them at more galleries, I have 2 new kits from her and one from Rina right now. Les is working tonight so I should catch up and be able to read the Blogs I keep up with.
It is so cold this week, getting down in the 30's! I pray if won't freeze! We really don't need crops to freeze and be hurt! Things cost enough now! I wish Jeff would cut down his cigarettes, they went from $14 a carton to $20 and since he doesn't have a real job and smokes 2 packs a day...

One day after I left Trey made a fort and was playing Hide and Seek with Charli, when Gina got home she started playing, too and they took pictures. I thought they were so cute! Now I need to make a BB size but I did this for a challenge at SBE.

Busy day, I am just walking in the door! We kept Charli awhile so Gina and Trey could pick out Easter bunny stuff and have a nice dinner, we had a great time as usual!

That's part of what I got to go in her Easter Basket. I found a cute pink wire basket and got hairbows and I am going to get some of the dried fruit I found at Wal-Mart, I need to sit and make her a little bracelet and necklace... that will go on my To Do list!
I want to get several pages done today, I also need to clean a little. Les and Jeff fixed my Bird feeder at my window and so far a couple of Robins have perched there this AM, I am going to have to clean the window now!
I am going to take my bath now, have been up since 6:30 but been posting pages and checking things. I really need to go brush my teeth and get dressed. I don't feel right sitting around in my sweats!
Guess what? This is my 100th post for this year!

This is another picture I got Wednesday, she had taken the bunny ears off and was just making faces at me. I really love yellow on her, I wish Gina had put the dresses I had saved for her and gotten her picture, I don't think she really cared because she is not sentimental like I am. I had saved the dress she had for her first birthday and a few others. She has so many outfits in all sizes that she hasn't thought about them much. I guess that's what happens when you have so many people spoiling her!
Well today is April Showers Day at work, fitting I think, LOL!
I hope I can actually get some pages made today, I didn't yesterday, and Les is off.

Charli's New Bunny Ears

Life is good when you have a grandchild who is willing to pose anytime, LOL! I guess I have C.O.D. went it comes to taking pictures of her! I paid $1 for these at Wal-Mart the other night and was so happy she liked wearing them!
Speaking of compulsions I am so upset that MONK is in the final season! I LOVE THAT SHOW! I do not like reruns because I remember most of the details But I can sit and watch the Monk Marathons. That and M*A*S*H which I dearly love.

I am proud the challenges are up and running at 3S! I like the way Janeal is doing the recipe challenge on an 8 x 10 format, she is doing Main Dishes first. I will have to think of something to scrap.

I love Thursdays! The first of the week is hectic but Thursdays are mine to do as I please! I plan on catching up when I get home!

What are Bubbles for?

I took Charli outside to play with the bubbles yesterday, I guess bubbles mean washing her hair, so that's what she did! I had to rinse it out before Gina saw her, LOL!

These are not very flattering pictures of Charli feeding me her beef stew but I am posting them anyway. Les never gets down to take pictures and since he is so tall I am lucky he didn't cut my head off, LOL! She has a high chair but I didn't bother with it and just sat in front of her, you can tell she got plenty on me but we had fun. She is always trying to feed me, at church yesterday she tried to give me her paci.
You can see my hair anyway. I like it short.
Twila, I am glad you posted your boy doll on your Blog and I am very happy you sold some! He is cute, I hope you can get your sewing room set up! I am glad you came to church yesterday and Cody is feeling better.
My FIL is running a fever, Les and I planned to go over there after we saw my Grandmama but we didn't make it. The wind was cold and making me cough bad so Les went to church alone for the singing. I guess Les will check on him before he goes to work the afternoon.

A card for Kevin

I got up this morning and made a card to take to Kevin from our Sunday School Class, I know it will brighten his day. I also thought it would be a great example to the girls how beautiful scripture is and I have a mini lesson on this one, I had picked up a duck feather when Charli and I went last week, that will work out just right.
Rina creates the most wonderful word art, this is from last week's challenge at Scrapbook Elements, each week we get a new one, it is a PNG file so Zaroga if you ever want to try making a card you can go get it and it will layer on a photo or background and I can help you... or I can make some for you if you send me some photos. I print mine at Walgreens and sometimes I put them on a blank card and sometimes I don't I also can do bookmarks for you and get 2 on a page, I would love to do it for you anytime.
The kit I used is new and called Moroccan Nights by Rina but the feather came from Oh Night Divine and the red flowers, frame and angel charm came from Classic Elegance from Kimmi Stewart. I like the way it looks, Les said he liked it, too.
