We had a cake walk at church today, I made a suncatcher and Jada won it, she was proud. I also made these earrings and sold them.
Here is my good friend Sheila outside the church.
My Chemo is tomorrow at 1:15.

Watch Me Grow Cards

I needed a couple of Thank You cards so I decided to use the Watch Me Grow Collab kit from Connie Prince and Project B Designs, I think they turned out rather pretty!

Yesterday DEVO was on YoGabbaGabba and I called Jeff to watch with Charli and me. It came on a second time and when the group came on Charli called "UNCLE JEFF!" he was not there but I thought how Smart that was that she remembered and knew he watched it with us!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Les, Charli and I went with Mema to O'Charley's for lunch today. She is going to add a line to our plan to save that $$ every month. She dropped her internet and is trying to shave what she can off her expenses. Suzan came by just before we left. She made over how she was praying for me and tried to seem concerned...
Anyway I worked about an hour and a half and got the mailboxes straight, I am going in next Wednesday to take pictures for St. Patty's Day.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Charli and I are reading this book and talking about caterpillars and butterflies, this wee we are going to do more crafts I have planned. This will be Fun!

Today I went with Gina and Charli and I got to see her baby! She decided to go ahead and have an ultrasound to make her feel better after having lost the last baby. She doesn't want to make a big announcement so if anything happens she won't have to talk about it. She will be 9 weeks tomorrow, due Oct. 12.
Now Charli had problems at first, she freaked to go into the office to update info so I had to take her out in the hall. She Really wanted to leave that place and tried to slip out the door, LOL!
At first she would not stay in the room and wanted to go but I told her we could not leave Mommy and then the power blinked, the fire alarm went off and Gina had to wait for the machine to come back up and I got Charli back into the room and started reading I Wish I Had Duckfeet (one of my favorite books) and she was much better and we saw the baby on the "TV"
It was so cool! I could plainly see the head and spine and 'he' turned his face so I could see the eyesockets and nose hole. Right now the fingers are only tiny stumbs but there is a baby there, I don't know how people think any other way!

Just sitting here getting ready to go to bed but putting it off. I finally made a couple of cards but need to make 3 more, maybe tomorrow... got a couple of errands to do and then will plan on it.
I still keep thinking about the sweet words Jeremy wrote on my Facebook yesterday, I saved a copy of the email just to read over and over.
After church I went to Gina's and she rented Where the Wild Things Are for my while She and Trey went to see Alice in the Wonderland. I was so hoping Charli would nap and she was close until the movie came on and then she Had to watch, LOL! She thought the creatures were great and just cackled when they had the dirt fight and a couple of other scenes. She is definitely Gina's child! I really enjoyed the movie and want to watch it again!

Goodbye Scrubs!

It was kind of sad taking my scrubs to give to Miss Martha today when I went to training. I kept a couple and the jackets but thought she would enjoy them and I am decluttering my life, so that was best!

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Today I was coughing and Charli gave me my water and said, "Drink water, Meme" I thought that was so Sweet!
I am so amazed at her with her potty training! Today when I brought her home she gave in and told me she had stinkied in her diaper and she sat and pottied. She them put her panties on and went 5 or 6 times staying dry all day! She even sat up from her nap and said she had to go. I have trained dozens of kids and she is one of the top 3 in how easy she is!
She even feels it and grabs herself and starts going to the potty!
We had a good day today playing play dough, using a glue stick, dancing to 80's music and playing puppets.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

These were gifts I got from my boss and a parent when I left my class last week! The top one is from my boss. I am waiting for the warmer weather next week to get them hung!

Got a lot done today, cleaned my dresser, my cedar chest and my closet out. I called Les to bring me boxes but he forgot Twice. I am giving my scrubs to a lady at work and have a lot of 'plain' socks to give to the ladies at the local rehab. I only had Charli for an hour and a half so got to work on my room.

Making Butterflies

Today was very different. I went in work for 15 minutes and Gina dropped Charli by and after doing some errands we came home where she took a nap and we worked on our first painting project.
It also snowed today, very pretty but didn't cover the ground all over.
Charli is doing so well potty training! The only diaper wet was from where we were in the car getting things done. She enjoys wearing her panties and likes the Potty Jar!

Monday, March 1, 2010

I am not going to post a picture today, I have some to download from my camera but I am a little tired, I am almost done with our Playroom.

Today has been a good day, Gina took me to IHOP and Charli went to the potty before we went and after she got up from nap, Gina said tonight she was laying watching TV and saying something, she said "Make Meme feel better, A-Men" Now isn't that precious! We have prayed together a few times like that and she hears prayers at church and Gina talks to her about Jesus.

Today went well at SSI. Ms. Kirkland had twins that used to go to the daycare so we had a bond. Now to wait 3 to 6 months....

Melissa gave me a bird feeder and Les and Jeff painted my birdbath. It looks great! I worked 45 minutes getting my stuff out and will work a few minutes tom.

Count your Blessings

After church Kathie, Gina and Charli, Les and I ate Chinese and then Kathie and I spent time together at Family Dollar. I am thankful we had this time together, Suzan has not come to the house and Nicole and the kids were not there for the weekend so it was wonderful. Charli was a little lady at the restaurant, too.

It Sunday School we talked about attitude and I told them, I have a disease but this disease does Not have me! I go to see about my SSDI in the morning and with God's help I will get it quickly, and I have a huge opportunity to use my Daycare training and help Charli advance over other two-year olds. I think that is quite a big blessing!

Saturday, February 27, 2010

This is Trey's Dad's new tractor, he is feeling very weak from his chemo and is hoping a project will help him to feel better.
I have accomplished a whole lot today. I am having to reorganize my office so I can get the things from Daycare in there too. I am at least half way done. By Tuesday Charli will be amazed at our new Playroom!
Oh, I did get my day out and went yard saling and to the scrapbook store and most places I wanted too!

Friday, February 26, 2010

Charli and I did our first craft project today, we made this necklace, she followed directions and gave me the beads I asked for and when we were done she put the beads back into the jar. Very good small motor skills for a two-year old. Crafters are made not born, LOL! I also told her about patterns. This what the high light of my day!

Now for my other things, LOL! I had to have Les at work 7:45 and got to the doctor for my blood tests a little after 8 and then to pick up Charli so I could be at work at 11 BUT my boss had left me a note on Facebook about 8:30 NOT to come it. Of course I was doing what I had to do INCLUDING getting aggravated because my air portable tank decided to freeze and not work.
OK, I did get 30 minutes of pay and one of my former parents gave me a GORGEOUS humming bird feeder and a $20 GC to the scrapbooking store.
I thought I would get to go "Junkin'" and to the LSS to spend my GC and do a couple of errands but the tank was pulsing and going crazy and I can't get Charli in and out of the seat I have easily so I was in a pretty fowl mood and I was starving!
Gary came and replaced my Big tank which had leaked out since Monday and the frozen tank PLUS he gave me a small backup tank of regular oxygen.
My Mom also went and got me some soup from O'Charleys so I feel much better now!

Thursday, February 25, 2010

I thought this Thomas Sabo charm was just the cutest thing! I didn't look at the price in the E-Store because I didn't want Any temptation!
Today was good, Gina brought Charli over around 7:45 so she was tired when she got off work at 6:00, it is getting obvious that she is pregnant now, she has a belly showing now.
Les and I met her at my MIL's when she got off and we ate hot dogs with Kathie and talked to her a long time about the way Les's sister is taking advantage of her. We really need to get her well so she can go to the lawyer and bank and safe guard herself. I really hate that, we did warn her before but that is her daughter.

Anyway I am watching skating on the Olympics and getting ready to go to bed, I have to go set up the new class in the morning, Charli will be going with me.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

A new scarf, birdfeeder and getting my laptop "fixed", LOL!
I bought a birdfeeder on eBay Sunday for $3.25 with free shipping and got it today! I love it!
I bought this scarf yesterday at Family Dollar yesterday, this and green are my favorite colors so I am going back and getting a pretty green one, too. Scarves are great to keep my oxygen from getting tangled and making it less obvious that I wear a tank. These are a nice spring weight, too.
Next I was going to play on my laptop while sitting with Charli to but she decided to get in my lap and I didn't get to connect so she said she would Fix it for me!

OK, today I gave up my class. I got lots f love and hugs, I will miss it but will be going Friday and Monday and get a couple of hours. I also went by to let the nurse see my TB test was negative.
"Take a picture, Meme!" Boy I have raised a little Poser, LOL! She put on her little gloves and we went outside while it was pretty and she 'gardened'.
Today is my last day as a teacher, Charli and I are going Friday and help set up the new class. I will still be doing things around the center like the bulletin board and photos but this is my last full day of work.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Had several errands today, Had to get my medicine print outs and get my TB test, Dr Holman had called to check on me and when he saw me he stopped to talk. I think I have everything I need now to go Monday, all organized and neat.
I had to call Les and get him to come get my tank and fill it because I ran out around 11:00 at work. I was cleaning and using more air than I realized I was. It was wonderful he was off. After work we went to -were I got more seeds and then to Wal-Mart where we saw Gina and Charli. I also picked us up some Gardening gloves at CVS.
The best thing is Les and I went to Lowes were he got my PVC for my new bird feeders and he started on it as soon as we got home!

Ready for Life Changes

I am getting ready for a lot of Life changes now, This is the last week I will be in class and next Monday I will be applying for disability. This week end I have gotten all my records together, there are a whole lot of them! I really got many things done today and feel pretty good.
I was thinking earlier how I am going to miss all the fun scrubs and seasonal shirts and socks, I sure won't give up my fun socks, LOL, but I am giving Miss Martha some of my scrubs and thinning down everything else.
The biggest thing is making the next few months without my income, I will be concerned about that, but God is good and we will survive this.
Picture is from Church today

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Got a little done today! Cleaned out my filing cabinet so I could have the records for my Health to take to the SS office to file for my disability, LOL, Les's file is Much bigger than mine! Kept Charli this AM while Trey went hunting and tonight while they went to the movies. Played on my Laptop awhile and won a bid in Ebay for a birdhouse for $3.25.
Getting sleepy now, Goodnight.

Charli helped her Pop fill the bird feeders this morning, I had to take a nap, he called the nurse and she said I will be weak and tired for a couple of weeks. I am going to get some vitamins and make sure I eat plenty of red meat ahead of time next month.
We took her to the mill pond to feed the ducks next, I will add pictures later. Eating a bowl of beef stew now and watching Little Bear, in a lot better mood!

Tired ramblings

Just a quick post, I haven't gotten much sleep since for the last 2 nights I had to get up every 2 hours so I can take a sleeping pill tonight and sleep!
Total drama at Les's Mom's house is what we got into before church, his sister and niece are fighting and it is a big mess! I don't do Drama, family stays mad at me and pout because I said things the wrong way and that is sad, I spent more time with my Grandmoms and never liked the chill in the house when my parents would fight and not talk. I say my piece and pray about it to calm down and let go. Life it too short to spend that way, I spent way too long apart from my Dad because of things he said. I told Gina and Trey to be prepared if I get snappy because these steroids really do make you mean. I am blessed that I don't get my feelings hurt as easily as some people, why spend years apart that you can't make up?
I will say I let it bother me that I don't hear from Jeremy much BUT I don't call him either because we do not have anything to talk about when we do call.
Well, I am rambling because I am so tired, no other side effects from the Cytoxan, just a few more days to work!

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Charli got her treat after she pottied and when I grabbed my camera she picked up hers, I had to laugh! She also put on the 'red bird' feather boa Miss Donnie sent her and her tiara so I could snap a picture, she sure knows how to pose, LOL!
Today went fine, just have to remember to go to the bathroom enough, that is tiring to me!
I did go on a Meals on Wheels route with my boss today and that was so fun! I so enjoy spending time with her, anyway! Saw Marie Bobo's Mom there at the senior apartments, that was great.

Monday, February 15, 2010

Well the Cytoxan I.V. was an adventure. It takes 3 hours which wouldn't have been as bad if it was quiet enough to sleep (Les was watching ICarly and all the traffic up and down the hall)
I had to sign a form that said I knew the dangers of the drug and for 5 days I have to flush twice And clean the toilet with bleach not to mention I MUST go every 2 hours even through the night for the next couple of days. Plus anything having to do with body fluids cannot be exposed to anyone so they would get this drug in their system. Charli can't use my chapstick or share my Pepsi. I thought that was wild!
I took a liter of fluid and something for nausea in the I.V. My appointments are exactly 4 weeks apart down to the time at 1:15.

On to better things I only had 3 kids today and got my Valentine treasures from the kids. Tomorrow I will be going on the Meals on Wheels Route with Melissa, the only thing I am concerned with is the bathroom thing but we have a powerful cleaner and I can drink in the car (I am supposed to drink 3 quarts a day)
Now off to see my farm!

Only one life will truly pass,
Only what is done for Jesus will truly last!

This is the quote my Preacher started the sermon with today. (Our service was an hour later because of the snow) It was based on James 4. I told him it was a perfect sermon for me, I told him if he has to preach my funeral I wanted that one. I make a lot of crafts and know for awhile I will be remembered from the scrapbooks, jewelry, photos, drawings and crocheted things over the years but they will be torn, faded and thrown away but the way I raised my kids to go to church and have faith and pray that will be passed to their kids. The kids I taught at church will grow hopefully remember the fun chalk drawings, Bible scavenger hunts and games as I taught them to help them know the Good News.
I know my kids will be in Heaven with me, hopefully it will be many years but it will be. I have faith in that!

These are bookmarks I make for my loved ones today for Valentine's. I paid 99 cents on Ebay for the bookmark pieces.

Personal Health notes

I can't get pictures to upload so I am just posting some notes as I begin my journey to feel better...

These notes are for me to remember as I go through my illness, I thought this was the best way for me to do it.

I have my daughter as my Power of Attorney on my medical and Les as second, the medicines we are doing are my only option, if they don't work I must go to a specialist in pulmunary and cardio functions. I want to avoid the expence of the travel to Charleston and I trust my Dr.
I may say things that seem a little morbid but I am a control person and know I will never live as long as my Grandmother, I pray I will see Charli graduate but am aware ther is a chance I won't so I need to make every day count...

Wednesday Feb. 10 I get my oxygen after talking to Dr Holman, I already feel less tired than before but still can't do simple things without getting out of breath. I got my Handicap sticker this week, too, it has me picture on it.
My Cytoxan I.V. starts Monday. I must drink Lots of fluids the next few days and go to the bathroom often. This is to prevent my bladder from bleeding. Also he will give me something in the I.V. to prevent nausea which is another side effect. Hair loss is another but Gina will help with that, there is a great shampoo called Nioxin for chemo and other problems that helps thicked hair and prevent losing it.
My weight is 131, that is something I will watch carefully, I started 50 MG of my steroids Thursday and already my face looks like I have a sunburn. Dr Holman gave me Restoril 15mg to help me rest, so far it makes me sleepy but I still sleep about 4 hours then I wake up, it is good sleep though. The Procardia is helping my hands and feet so they are not purple anymore.
I plan to give up my class in 2 weeks, I will try to get disability and pray it woun't be a long process! I have reached my deductable already But have all these new medicines and have to pay monthly for my oxygen above what insurance doesn't pay. That is really going to be hard since I will be giving up my income.
I saw the funniest sign yesterday! It said "Give a gift of Life Insurance to your loved one for Valentine's" Les and I laughed, if he gave me life insurance I would worry! He would worry even more because I watch the CSI, Forensics shows.... Go Figure, LOL!

We finally got some REAL snow! This was about 6:00

This was just after 4:00, it started around 3:30, Charli had a great time, I couldn't stay long, it was too cold and I had to change of my oxygen tank. The first one had a cracked valve and the second kept working constantly insted of pulsing only when I breathe. Charli has gotten used to it and we call it my robot and she keeps saying "Meme feel better?" She has stuck with me and keeps kissing me and rubs my back when I cough, I think that is so sweet!!
I had to have more blood tests today before my I.V. starts Monday. I will have blood tested every two weeks now.
It already looks like I have a sunburn after just two days of upping my Prednisone from 10mg to 50mg. Please pray the steroids won't get me fat again and have a fat face! Also pray I wouldn't lose my hair!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Charli sat making me some "Alphabet Soup" and doing my make up while we were waiting on the man bringing my oxygen. She was terrified of the small tank, I told her it was my Robot. I start my new meds Monday, It will be an I.V. every 4 weeks, if it doesn't start working I will have to go to a specialist in Charleston. I have to go from 10mg of Prednisone to 50 starting tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

What a great birthday! First my kids gave me this wonderful bird house and cupcakes then Gina and Jamie gave me a surprise party at church! Even my best friend Marie came! I really enjoyed the day, if if I did have a mammogram, LOL!

Come on over to SBE and do the Scripture Challenge!

For the first of our 2010 challenges we will be looking at the Word of God as revealed in scripture, so the verse for Week 1 comes from the first part of Hebrews 4:12 which says:
“For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword.” ... it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

** Be sure to read the General Guidelines to the challenge HERE, where you can find out what will happen each week. It will tell you how you can take part, what you will be receiving, where to post your submissions to, etc.

Here is a preview of your FREE Word Art for this week (the link to download the Word Art to use as part of your submission appears at the BOTTOM of this message, and will only be available until the close of this challenge):

* The deadline for submitting your creation for THIS challenge is midnight EST on Saturday February 6th 2010.*

Monday, February 1, 2010

Today was a day of Doctors, first Charli showed out at her's, she freaked when she had to take her jacket off! She had never acted like this! Gina had to get on the scales with her and it took 4 of us to measure her. She is 36" and weighs 25 lbs.
Next Gina had a blood test, she is pregnant! we are keeping it kind of quiet though because she doesn't want to go through what she did when she lost the last one.
Then me. I have few choices but to go on the medicines I did not want to before, I will have to quit my job and go on oxygen. My lungs are working at 41% and my heart is beginning to show damage from lack of oxygen. I actually get a handicap sticker for my car now.
