It looks like my FIL will need to go to a nursing home awhile, my MIL can't be pulling on him and taking care of him as much as he needs right now. His lungs are shot with the COPD and he has a fatty liver. Also he is diabetic and because of not using oxygen the way he should he has Dementia. I was praying nothing would happen Before Jeremy came home but he is really out of it and his quality of life is not good. I know Jeremy would not want to see his Papa like this. They REALLY love each other. When jeremy was little and would need to be corected it would hurt his Papa so bad. After Ghostbusters Jeremy made the "NO" symbol on the doors and TV with a crayon and George didn't want us to spank him because he was just copying the movie.
I asked Kathie to save George's National Guard awards for Jeremy. That child was so proud of his Papa and called the Guard "Papa's Army" The picture at the top is our send off party when Jeremy joined the Army. Yes, I am in that picture, LOL!
It is so strange that my Mom is also having problems with her liver, too! I pray she will get better quickly!
Oh, I really like the new CSI. I thought I would miss Gill but the new character, Ray is super!

Playing with magnets

This is Charli playing with some magnet arrows, she really enjoys them! She plays with them for long times! You can see by these pictures her curls are really growing out! I am so tickled she is going to have curly hair like Gina! My favorite moments are when she takes her nap on me and as she sleeps she sweats and wakes up with a lot of curls! She seems to enjoy our naps, too and never gives me any trouble by fighting sleep.
I finally heard from Jeremy and Julie, he emailed me and she called me. They were just so excited to see each other they forgot everything else, sending Charli a birthday present, calling me on my BD and checking on his Grandparents... he left on the 11th, I guess I just don't understand.

When I saw this Mr Roboto Kit
I had to have it to scrap Charli's Favorite Robot, PLEX! She even has this on sale for $1 at Gotta Pixel. I am going to scrap one of my first VWs, too! The stomach bug has made it around the Daycare and I have had a Lot of diapers to change! I am praying it is over! They were all a little ill yesterday, too, pushing and not getting along, I hope that's better today, too.
I am up to 130 friends on Facebook. I even found my Mom's cousins who are twins and some of my Wal-Mart friends.

That 70's kit! That's what this one is called and I love it! At Digishoptalk the designers give away kits and Karyn at Digitalarts-Cafe gave me a half price coupon on this one and it was on sale too. Super kit!!
My SIL's hours have been cut like so many others and so I to go see Grandmama a few minutes after I left there. Charli was in a terrific mood. I will download the pictures later.

It's not easy to see this but it is something I drew several years ago. I haven't done any 'real' drawing in a long time. I do things for work, I love doing paper piecing but nothing like this photo of my DD, Gina. Maybe I will do a portrait of Charli sometime.
I sat with my in laws at the hospital for awhile and then went to see my Mom and Grandmother, yesterday, They were both good visits although Papa couldn't wake up. I was worried about him falling out of the wheelchair on the way to x-ray!It's now been one week since he went to the hospital! We will find out today about his condition.

TREASURES

I actually went to bed at 7:00 last night so I am up now. Bojangles has the smoked sausage biscuit back and I had eaten one before the concert Friday and it made me sick so I didn't really eat anything yesterday and now have a very slight headache. thought if I ate a little something I would feel better in a few minutes.
The real reason I am having trouble is that Kathie asked me to make a list of things I wanted my name on for her. I can't think of much but I do want all the photos and her Mickey Mouse watch (it's a special collector watch) I do want Jeremy to get Papa's things from the National Guard, that's what these are mostly, I borrowed them for VBS one year and photographed them, Since he can't speak for himself I am requesting them. I also want Gina to have her pearls. She is the only granddaughter that is 'girly' and would treasure them. She also gets her Mema's original wedding set.
I have things in my jewelry box with names on them of who I want to get them and where the item came from. I am going to do pages for a bragbook so things that are important to me won't end up in a yard sale or the trash. It's not that I have a lot but things like the rhinestones my Nanny gave me need to be with someone who cares that my Dad was 15 when he bought them for her and she gave them to me when I was 15. I hope I will be around to hand them to Charli when she is that age.
I don't need anything adding more clutter to my life and I will scan the pictures and pass on the originals to other family.
As a scrapbooker I have done Many albums and my art will outlive me, I think about that often, I sit here in my office and to me left is a pastel drawing my Grandmother did when she was in college, it is surrounded by 4 of my sunset photographs. On another wall is a collage drawing by Jeremy (I just added pictures) I hope Jeremy will want the art by Grandmama, it is one of my favorite possessions!
Also the things I have crocheted and cross stitched will remind people of me but most of all I hope my children and grand children will remind others of me! I know Gina is very much like me. I know I am rambling this morning Or is is late night? So I will close, my headache is gone now and I will go back to bed.

Saturday, February 14, 2009

Here are some pictures from the concert last night. It was Awesome, it was 1:00 before we got home! They said there were over 13,000 people there, We didn't have to wait in line but 10 or 15 minutes. Toby Mac was the big draw and those teens loved him, we all did, too. There ended up being 19 people in our group.
The news is not good on my FIL, we will know exactly Monday. I Do Not want ANYONE to tell Jeremy before I have a chance to. I am not going to tell my DIL either. I am going to email him to call me ASAP, I am praying nothing will happen until he gets back in the states. I don't like people telling me about my own family when something important goes on and I will give my son the same respect! I just hope he will call me, I haven't heard at all from him since he got in the states and know he only had two weeks and has gone back. I am not Mad he didn't call me on my birthday or to say good-bye. I have grown to expect it...

More pages from Charli's Birthday, I had a lot of great pictures to scrap! This kit is called Flutterfree and is one of her 'older' ones I really love it!
Les had to go to the Dr 3 times yesterday, Sports Medicine sent him to an orthopedist so he is now wearing one of those boots on his right foot. I guess I will do most of the driving awhile because I can't stand when he drives with his left foot! At least he had vacation time already today and tomorrow since we are going to the concert!

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Well, Ma Howard will be buried today, I am sad that it is at 11AM and I will be at work and can't go. Gina did a great job on her hair and she really looked nice, especially since she had cancer.
When I got home yesterday after keeping Charli Les said Dad had taken a turn for the worse and I needed to go see him before church. I got there and he was sitting there eating his supper. It seems like they do that to me all the time, tell me he's about gone and when I get there he looks pretty good, I told everyone it's because I came to see him. Uncle Bud and Louise were there along with Janette and my MIL. I sat on the bed beside him and talked to him and he ate his fruit and a little bit from his plate. He is still taking fluids and the antibiotics and they did a CT scan.
Looks like Les has a Broken foot now. He went to see his Dr today and has to be at Sports Medicine at 8:05. I told him he had to STOP finding reasons every month to go to the DR! Douglas from church said he didn't know whether to pray or just shoot him! At the funeral home Bobbi was teasing him too. I told her I wouldn't shoot him because that was messy, it would be something a lot neater. I tease him that's why I watch all the Forensic shows! I tell him all the time he better not end up cripple, that's what Nursing Homes are for! I wish I could afford AFLAC again because the medical bills are ridiculous!
I am keeping a record this year by noting how many times he does go to the Dr. last year it was over 20 times.
I guess today is not a very uplifting post! I did have a pretty good day, though, The kids were good at work, Katie was out, Caleb is still out after his surgery and Kamryn went home with the stomache bug. Charli was Great and the service at church was wonderful. even at the Funeral Home people knew she was ready and it wasn't sad. All in all, I can count several blessings!

I am so happy to be on Connie Prince's CT, now! This is the first kit I have done for her and it is on sale for $1! It is called Desperately Seeking Spring I think it's a wonderful kit for Charli's birthday pictures! I am going to do more.
Well, Monday we had a new member of the church born, Pyper Elizabeth to Sarah Blevins and Tuesday we lost the oldest member Virginia "Ma" Howard. Gina is going to the Funeral Home this morning to cut and fix her hair, Les is going to keep Charli and he's happy about that. It won't take too long. She has done this before for a church member. I admire her for it.
I really am having fun playing with Charli in the afternoons. She now has discovered magnets and Loves them! I'll post a picture later.
Have a Super day! (this is what the kids at work tell their parents)

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Papa Douglas at church was the first to give Charli a Valentine last year and this year he has already made sure she got her's. I took it to her yesterday and Gina took her picture when she ate a piece. You can tell she enjoyed it!

Monday, February 9, 2009

Today when I got to work Ms. Juanita brought me a brown paper sack and said, I want you to have this and in the bag was this! It's even full of Wild Country cologne! What makes it more special is that it was her dad's, I truly treasure it.
I was the employee that was spotlighted this month and I told how I loved and collected VW's so she said this was one she wanted me to have.

After work I am going to keep Charli while Gina goes to the Chiropractor, She has headaches and he said her jaw was out of line and after her adjustment the other day she has been much better!

Sunday, February 8, 2009

When we got out of church Les and I stopped by his parents before he had to go to work at 2:00. His Mom and Sister had called the ambulance because he was groggy and just wanted to sleep. She said he had a fever but when I checked he was ok with that. His BP had dropped to 98 Over 0! His sugar was 212 and he hadn't eaten or drank anything. They admitted him in to the Hospital with pneumonia. I told my MIL she shouldn't give him his BP meds without checking with the Dr. I rode in the amdulance with him and they gave him a breathing treatment and by the time we got there he was much better!
My sister-in-law really gets my goat sometimes, when we walked in she shouted 'who called Lester!" she was so upset we were there! She wants all the credit for anything with her parents and tells everyone how much she does. So sad! She has taught her granddaughter to call Les Uncle lettuce head. Then she turns and tries to be nice to me, asking about Charli and such. I guess I feel sorry for her, she lacks the Love and Joy we have in Christ. Also our kids both graduated and are married and have families. She never believed school was important and passed that on, neither of her girls are married either but have kids.
I also had Jeremy before I got married but thank God I found Les and gave my kids the stability and together we raised children who are saved.
I have to pray for my SIL often and remember that I am blessed!

Saturday, February 7, 2009

Charli and I had a fun morning, she is adding a word or 2 at a time, now she says 'book' and I think she told me 'look'. She understands when you ask her to do things like "give me that" and helps dress her by putting her arm in her shirt or jacket. I don't think Gina is keeping up her Baby Book so I am keeping track like any proud Grandma, LOL!
I got accepted to Connie prince's CT, I have wanted to be on her's. I did pages for her before when I was at Scrapbooker's Playground. I have a LOT of her older kits.
I still have not gotten in the swing again of posting pages again! I am so worn out with all those church pages.!
Thank you Zaroga for the Lemonade award!

Friday, February 6, 2009

I just got home from Fatz and having my Birthday dinner with my family, It was very good and I really enjoyed it! I think those rolls are one of my favorite things on the menu! My BIL had his hand bandaged up because he had to have a couple of splinters cut out that were infected, I hope he heals quickly and doesn't have a lot of pain!
At work we had a fun time doing Miss Tammy's Birthday, I enjoyed hearing them sing to me and watching them eat the cupcakes, I will post pictures later.
I am going over to Gina's in the morning and keep Charli so it will probably be a little later when I do my post, I am working on some Word Art I want to post.
Twila, thanks again for the dinner and my gifts!
Went to bed very early last night, in a bad mood because I was supposed to have a training and they told us a place and we waited in the cold for 30 minutes and they told us another place and long story short I came home and heated my electric blanket up and read. I am so ready to have a night with nothing to do! I told Gina I would go over to her house Saturday morning and keep Charli so she wouldn't have to get her out in the cold, she had to be at work at 8 and Trey is going to some hunting thing. Maybe Saturday after I come home I can 'hide' and do nothing . Les will be working so...
Oh, this is another page done with the kit Thumbody Loves you by Cathy K. The link is in yesterday's post

Thursday, February 5, 2009

What a Long day I had! After work I kept Charli then we had our last night of Revival Then ate with Kevin and Shannon, it was 10:00 when I got home!
Poor Charli had fallen when I got to Gina's and had a bump on the head. Thank goodness it was just a triangle shaped light bruise. What was so bad is Annabelle had bumped her head at work and gotten a bruise, too!
This picture of Charli is from a photo shoot and the kit is the same one I used for my header, Thumbody Loves You by Cathy K at Scrapbook Elements I Really love using this kit! I will add a couple of more pages later. I hope you have a great day!
OH, my new Bble Verse is Prov. 4:23 "Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life." How true this is! I think it's a wonderful verse for February!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Yesterday when I got over to see Charli she wanted me to see her new Munno toy! She went to the basket that had it and her guitar and then Gina said, "Go look at her new toy." I asked her was it Munno and she said "yes," I told her Charli had already shown me, LOL! I took this picture of her playing with him while she was watching Yo Gabba Gabba. I just get a kick out of watching her! I'm lucky to work with toddlers and know what to expect as she gets older, the kids at work kept singing Happy Birthday over and over, that was Fun, Friday I will take them some cupcakes and balloons for the weekly party and we will have my 'party' I am looking forward to that!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

A second post to share my birthday with you, I got my Director to take this picture of my kids and me went she gave me the gift from work, the tall Angel with the 7 birds, I happen to have 7 kids right now so that worked out great! The cute little shelf sitter is from my Mom and the one on the left has a friendship quote is from my best friend, Leigh Anne. My Mom also gave me a silver angel frame that I will be putting Charli's picture in. Gina gave me an electric blanket, I always complain because Les has so much cover I feel weighted down, Now I can heat up the bed and turn it down while he can keep it high and not be cold! She got me a King size for my queen bed so we will both have plenty of cover, too! What a sweetie she is! Thanks for my clips and bath gel, Twila, I look forward to dinner Friday!
I am finishing up my Hibachi Shrimp I got after church, this is one of my Favorite foods right now so I am going to end this. I surely have had a great day and my inbox is overflowing with emails from scrap friends! I am blessed!
Oh, I got a new watch from Les, he really was good to me this year!
Oh, and don't you think it's cool I have my Birth announcement?

I was so excited to get a couple of cards in the mail yesterday, one made by 'Nette, a family friend and Gina's godmother and a Super special one from Chris Weber! I also got this adorable car Sunday from my good friend Sheila, it even makes a barking sound, I love it! I still have a couple of cards to open in my inbox which I am about to do. Thank you ALL for making my day special!
I do have a long day, though, after work I will go keep Charli and then go to Revival tonight so I won't been home until about 8:30, that's a Long day for a 49 year old, LOL!
Oh, I did my taxes yesterday! I always put that off but decided to go ahead and do them, at least I will get a couple hundred back!

I want to share these two songs with you!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpOLyR8MwiA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OihvG607W-c&feature=channel
This is Brandon Heath and my church is getting up a group to hear him on the 13th. Last year we saw Mercy Me and Mandissa, I am so excited to him Brandon though!

Homecoming went well, the book was a hit Even with the mistakes I made! I was really feeling BAD because I left Trey's name out, my Own sweet son-in-law! I guess as fast as I put it together I am blessed to have as few mistakes as I made! Donna at the print shop said they had done a lot of books but that was the best put together and easiest she had ever done. I know that cut cost a LOT by me doing the set up and it was ready in 48 hours! I might have to post a picture later.
Well I wasn't going to share a picture today But that won't be ME now would it?
The little gold Angel was given to me by my Grandmama because I sit this way and it made her think of me, the day I can't sit down in the floor with Charli and the kids at school I am retiring! Anyway that started me getting Angels from her, my Mom and even my kids, I don't think I had ever bought myself one. The picture hanging is done by Jeremy and is an Angel that looks remarkably like him, LOL! I thank you all for your prayers as he serves our country. I haven't talked to him but once since he is on leave. Like me, my son hates to talk on the phone! Pray he will have a safe trip back and the time over there will pass quickly. He has about 5 months left.

Sunday, February 1, 2009

I put away most of my winter clothes today... I really am a little sad to do this. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love to dress for the season! I have to admit I left 3 or 4 of my snowmen shirts and socks out, my 'baby' sister gave me several cute socks for Christmas and the kids love to see what kind I am wearing. I need to get a couple of Valentine shirts, I guess.
I am trying a new banana pudding with Pecan Sandies instead of Vanilla Wafers, I forgot the cool whip though... I have to stop by Walgreen and pick up the pictures to put in my album. Yes, I finished before the coupon ran out! I also got a little cleaning done but not as much as I wanted. The new candle warmer I bought at Hobby Lobby melted the first time I used it!

Saturday, January 31, 2009

I love this sign! It used to hang right near my front door, I guess it's packed up somewhere now, When we moved I never have unpacked the things I once had on the walls. Our house is not as cluttered now either. I actually have just gotten up and moving around today and Les was sweeping, I think I am going to neaten my office today before I start working on things, too. It's 45 degrees outside and the sun is shining, I have several things to accomplish...
Make a banana pudding for Homecoming
Get the photos printed I want to add to the photo album
Start on a new book for Lynn
Get my challenges ready for Osten's site
I might even do my taxes, I don't know I might wait until tomorrow for that one
Well off I go to take my bath and get started, I hope you have an Awesome day and I hope to see you Twila at church for Homecoming!

Friday, January 30, 2009

How do you like my new Blog Look? This is a super kit that will be released Sunday at Scrapbook Elements called Thumbody Loves You by Cathy K and it is adorable! I will be making my kids at work Valentines and I will post them for you to see!

This picture is from last week, Snowmen was our theme and Annabelle's Mom brought these pretty snowflake cookies and we watched frosty and made snowflake pictures. Today our theme is Winter and we will be playing dress up with gloves and hats. I will let them match them up, too, that will be fun, I hope.
We really enjoy these Fridays, Next Friday I will be doing Birthday cupcakes so they will sing to me, I will love that!

Thursday, January 29, 2009

This is my verse for this week, I Tim 2:1 I hope you will read the rest of the chapter because it is a message for Today!
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks.

Here are the pictures from the church book of Gina and Charli and Les and I, I ended up using a picture of Trey, Gina and Charli instead, though, he didn't come to get his picture taken so I just used another one, I do like this one, though, she has her Birthday Girl dress on.
All she did was basically sleep yesterday, we always take a nap and she was sleeping about an hour but this week she has been taking a long nap of a couple of hours. I don't blame her today, it was rainy and just a little cool. Great napping weather. She did get excited when she saw Trey and started playing. She sleeps so hot and her hair gets wet and starts to curl. I am glad of that. Grandmama said she looks like Gina.
I am the spotlighted employee this month at work. That's kind of cool, I am blessed with a great boss now and work is fun. Before I was stressed and wondered how I could stay there! Just a personality clash with the director.
I will have a busy week next week, we have revival the first of the week and I have training Thursday. Les and I pretty much celebrated my birthday last Saturday because we are too busy to do anything next week. I have gotten used to Homecoming being right there at my Birthday and I guess Church is the best place to be, the funny thing is last year Les was teaching VBS on his 50th! They did have him 2 cakes and gave him a party though which was great!
Sunday night Jot will be there. He is almost 90 and is one of the funniest and best preachers in this area! I keep trying to get my family members to come hear him but they don't want to get and go to church on a Sunday Night. They are missing the blessing! He drives from Clinton which is about 25 miles away to speak to us. That's something for a man his age! Each time I see him preach I take it in hoping it won't be the last time I see him pull up his pants legs and laugh at himself! He lost his wife in 2008, they were married close to 70 years and every time he preached he would say "Darlin' would you pray for me?" and she would although she had Alzheimer's and a diseased liver. That forever will be in my heart when I think of him!

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Had a great day yesterday, I picked Charli up and went to see Grandmama, she hadn't seen her walk yet. Then we came home and took a nap, she thinks she has to sleep on top of me, that's so funny. She lays right down and goes to sleep, though. Gina had to work late and Trey was working on some signs so Les cooked a nice supper and so she and Gina ate with us.
I had to redo the church book a little and add the history. I think the members will really enjoy getting their copies Sunday at Homecoming! I will take it to the printers after work and get them Friday. How exciting to see a book you've done. This is actually my third but the first two were cookbooks I made when I worked at Wal-Mart. One was a fund raiser for Hospice and one for Children's Miracle Network.
My real dream is to do Children's books! I always wanted Jeremy to help illustrate but I don't think that will happen. Maybe I can use my digital skills.
Well off to play with my babies!

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

I am now at 151 posts! I am proud of myself for keeping up this year!
This is another of my treasures, Gina started me a Willowtree collection. I also give them to her. It's something that's special between us. She got me this one because I teach toddlers. I am finally finished with the church book! I am so relieved! I spent over 20 hours on it and am so tired! I have a friend, Sheila proofing it for me and will take it to the printers after work.
Well that's it for now!

Monday, January 26, 2009

Jeremy is on his way home today! Of course I won't see him but should hear his voice late tonight or sometime tomorrow, he has a short layover in Atlanta and is supposed to be at home in Washington at 7PM there time.
Had a wonderful time with Charli yesterday, didn't get much done on the book, though! I will have to come home and try to get it ready to take to the printer by 5. I got frustrated last night and went to bed! This is her wearing her Pop Pop's hat while watching TV.

Sunday, January 25, 2009

A very different share this morning... I made this in elementary school, why I painted it yellow I don't know but I was only 8 or so. Anyway it's one of my treasures. I am going to do some challenges at Dude's place and scrapping your treasures is one of them, I want to be sure when I am gone things won't get donated to charity if they have a family history. I volunteered at the Faith home and saw important awards and things given away!
Les and I had a nice time together in Greenville yesterday, I got a terrific bible that was exactly what I wanted for $35! That was half price, Les had worked on a truck and made $40 to buy my present, so that worked out well. He also bout me a necklace that spells out "GOD" to form a heart in silver and gold, I love it!
Well going to soak in the tub because I have a tiny touch of a headache and I want to work a few minutes on my book.
Gina has training today so we are going to get Charli and take her to church and keep her today, I am looking forward to that, I just need to have the book ready and loaded on a disc for the printer tomorrow.
