Jeremy's Coming!

So much has been going on lately I don't get around to Blog much! Today I will finally meet my DGS, Seth! They have been trying all week to get here by taking a flight that had space available with no luck so they just borrowed the money and are in flight now.
We are in the process of moving, it has cost so much in gas which is now $4.80 a gallon and up and with the medical bills piling up we just can't keep our mobile home. I am sad, we have lived in Waterloo since 1996 and bought this home when Les burned our other one in a kitchen fire but at the same time I am excited!
Off to post at 3S a few minutes and then back to bed... I have a long day ahead!

Festival of Flowers

This year's Festival was a lot of fun! Les and I went to see The fabulous Expressions with Marijane Wells and the Blue grass night with New Dixie Storm, we also did the entire Garden tours!
I am just late posting, we have been really busy!
Will be moving after living here 12 years, I am excited to get a new start, and Jeremy will be home the week end!
As you can see by the picture Les spent his 50th Birthday in a cast!

I am so blessed to have a job I love!
I go to work each day and play with 6 older toddlers, sometimes I only wish me lap was bigger! This is an age where each day they start saying new words and learning how to do something exciting!
Well, my tests weren't so bad! The echocardiogram was done by a tech named Sandra and she didn't poke the thing under my rib like the Dr did years ago; and Warren was great doing the lung tests, he had a relaxing voice and lest me rest and explained everything! I even learned that the way my fingernails are rounded is a sign of Lung Disease and called CLUBBING, that was fascinating to me!

A new picture of Charli

A new picture of Seth!

Jeremy sent me a couple of photos last week, I am so tickled to see how much the kids favor!
I had a physical Monday and had to have an echo-cardiograph yesterday because my EKG was not so good and today I must take the Dreaded Pulmonary Function tests because my lung disease has increased. Les is going with me because I get so out of breath and weak doing them. I feel good so I am not worried either way but I really have missed keeping Charli because of going to the Dr!
Oh, Les's hand is broke, this time it's his right one and it's not as bad as when he broke his left one sticking it in the ceiling fan... I am so used to him breaking things I just shake my head and wonder what's next! He will be in a brace Tuesday for his 50th birthday!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Two years ago on Father's Day I spent the day watching my Dad struggle to breathe his last breaths so I am in a reflective mood... I am happy for Jeremy though as today is his first Real Father's Day, although he has been Dad to the girls it is different to have his own child!
I used Carla Ware's Cat Crazy to do this page.
Les had to work so his usual Movie with Gina has to be later and I am sad that the women he works with all got off and the men had to work... they were all off on Mother's Day, too. Not quite fair I say!

I Love this picture!

I took this the other day, I set it as my desktop! Went with Gina to the Doctor today, Charli now weighs 12'6" which is reverse of her 6'12" birth weight.
She is in the 25 to 50% on weight but in 75% on height at 25"long!

Kit is Cathie Alesia's Sunny Disposition.

Monday, April 21, 2008

I really love being a grandmother! I was so happy to get some new pictures of Seth! I think He favors Charli, I will be so glad to see him this summer! I used kits by my friend Cathy Alesia from Scrapbooker's Playground for these, Seth's is done with Sunny Disposition and Charli's is Rainbow Connection.

It is so amazing to think that Charli turned 3 months old yesterday! She was born on a Sunday, too. Seth will be 3 months Thursday. Yesterday as I held her in church she actually played with a small bear I got her! I love that she is staying awake and playing with me!

At work Rylee and Samantha moved up and Lily and Jackson came into our class, Jackson is related to Les' family son I guess he is a distant cousin. I will miss my babies and thier Mom's!!

Saturday we are taking the kids on a Mystery Tour to a state park and we will hike and take pictures and fish, that will be fun!

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Charli is really growing! She is lifting her head even better and now knows she has hands. I am so excited she is staying awake and playing with me more! I really miss sharing these things with Seth!

I spent Saturday morning doing one of my favorite things... yardsales! Got a lot for the $8 I spent! Then I photographed Trent and Debra's wedding, I have got to start scrapping and working on them this week.

I can't believe a month! Time passed so fast! This is my Grandmother with Charli! We are blessed to have 5 generations! I have got to get a picture. We are all the First girls in our family... My Mom, me, Gina and now Charli!
This kit is Bejeweled by Cathie Alesia at Scrapbooker's Playground. I LOVE doing her kits!
I finally cahtted with Jeremy and Julie for a Long time yesterday on HELLO. I enjoyed it, got some pictures from them.

Enjoying Life

I haven't spent as much time on the computer lately, Gina went back to work last week on Valentine's Day and I went out of town with church friends both Friday and Saturday.
We went to Winterfest and saw New Song and Mercy Me, it was terrific!
Charli was a month old Wednesday, I took this picture Thursday and scrapped with the Fun Chat kit from 3S, I thought it fit the picture beautifully! Seth will be a month old tomorrow, he weighs 10.5 lbs now and is wearing the Carolina shirt that Jeremy wore as a child! Jeremy was old enough to eat cookies when he wore it! I am begging for pictures, guilt doesn't work as well long distance, LOL!
Work is going great, Nina moved up and Logan came up, she is much easier to get along with for the kids but still plays by herself a lot.
Well, off to do some pages for Gina's brag book.

Four days apart

Here are my two new grands! I put them backward because I dided know when I added the second picture that it would come out on top! Oh, well, here they are...
Seth is 3000 miles away in Washington at Fort Lewis so my son has to send me pictures.
Here's Seth he came Thursday afternoon, delivered by C-section, Jeremy sent me several pictures to share and promises to keep me up to date.
Here's Charli! She was born first, thank goodness on a Sunday morning so those of us who spent the night at the hospital had some rest! Sunday she will be dedicated at church, it's my Birthday so that's really special!
For Seth's BA I used a new kit, Misty Morning by Osten Wilkens @ 3S and the charm is from Baby, Baby by Monna Lainson, Charli's is Bouton DeRose from Petit Moineaux which is a favorite Blog.

Can't Believe it's been 6 weeks!

Gosh it's been a long time since I have posted! Still waiting on my grandbabies, Gina is miserable! Been working on Churchbook and did 258 pages but I did in 4 x 6 size so it wasn't too bad.

Carla made me a wonderful kit for Scrapture challenge called Faith, I am glad several people have done the challenge! Here is a page I made with it.

I can not believe how time is flying away! It seems like just a couple of days ago Les and I went to Ware Shoals for a picnic and enjoy the geese and ducks! I used Tomorrow by Kimmi Stewart at 3S to scrap this one for an art challenge.
Gina is almost 32 weeks now, she has had a shower the last two Sundays and will have one tomorrow at her house. I hope Trey got a lot done this week, she is getting anxious about getting the Baby's room done.
We had Thanksgiving together, Trey and Les fried a turkey and it was great! Gina and I cooked, only Mama ate with us but Jamie came over. We got up at 2AM and went to Anderson, Gina and I really ony took a nap, I have all my major shopping done, just need to mail Jeremy's and make a couple of things.
I will try to do better on posting though!

Sunday, October 21, 2007

This is my Nanny, she was a Breast cancer survivor having 2 masectomies! She ended up dying with cancer in her lower spine that was found when she had a hip replacement.
She was a strong country woman and I saw her read her Bible and pray. She was a Big influence on my life, giving me scraps of cloth to sew and because of her I made a couple of quilts, she even helped me quilt my first one! She also made aprons to sell to ladies at the mill where she was a weaver. I almost cry when I think about her although she passed away in 1989!
Because of my love for her I created a cookbook to raise money for Hospice, I also did a good bit of work for Children's Miracle network when I worked at Wal-Mart. I haven't been doing as much lately, Church Missions of course and the Faith Home (for substance abuse) I guess it is habit to do these now.

Les gets his stitches out tomorrow and Noel got hers out of her hand but had to have another cast.

Credits include Osten Wilkins tags, heart and journaling box. Digitalgirl Flower and everything else from Ina at Scrapladies.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Today was the first day of my new class as a teacher, I have the same kids, Sophia just got a new job so I am the Lead Teacher. Today when pretty well. Amber came into the class too, Emma left daycare and Brooke is keeping her due to her illness.
Les is still sore, and the incision has been draining. Dr. gave him antibiotic to help that. gets staples out the 22nd.
My Joyce Meyers CD came in mail today! i am looking forward to listening to it. I am going to miss sleeping late and listening to her at 10AM!

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Now on Dude's CT! This makes me Very Happy! These are pages from my first kit I have done, I love the little bat bracelet and charms! He also has Mesh!
The kit is called Spook-tacular and is here http://shop.3scrapateers.com/shopexd.asp?id=3622
I knew I wanted to scrap Gina's dance picture from 1988 and when I saw the bats I had to do a page with Gina and Les! They so LOVE vampire movies. Both my kids are as addicted to movies as their Dad, I rarely watch a whole movie, unless Owen Wilson is in it!
BLOGGIN' WITH CARLA PROMPT
Miss Jane did the Wednesday Prompt, what did we eat today, I will do yesterday and say not a lot. I have finally convinced myself to cut down on Pepsi! I drank a can and half a 24 oz bottle, I guess Les picked up my bottle because it's gone and I didn't finish it. I snacked on candy coated pretzels left from Sunday's Church Baptism and ate the sub sandwiches I had left with chips. I also has 2 Yougart drinks, that's my healthier substitute for Pepsi and lots of water. I am sure I ate more than that but it's 5AM and I really don't remember!
Les is very tired after his surgery and Noel is doing much better.
Also I have my AM hours back starting Wed. Oct. 17!

Good Morning

I am up and thought I would read some blogs and post this picture of Gina's Willowtree I got for her Birthday. She has given me a few so I wanted to give her one to start her collection. I had a hard time because they are all so cute! This was my decision though so she will remember her first one was on her Birthday. Mama and Sissy gave her Willowtrees, too. I saw several I want for her so I know what part of her Christmas will be.
Amanda came up with a great Blog prompt, What do we think of DST? I like the way it used to be before the Senator or Governor or whatever moved the time it started and ended, I Hated the beginning because I was missing the sunrise on the way to work the first several days! It don't matter as much now since I work afternoons, I just sleep in later now. I am glad after years of Les telling me how bad he hates the change he now keeps quiet, though! That's a great relief!

Friday, September 28, 2007

Well my Baby turned 21 today! She really looked adorable tonight, I had to laugh when she showed me how she had her pants fastened! She is fighting going into maternity pants because she can't find any that fit her well and that she likes! She won't be able to wear this top for awhile as it was uncomfortable, too. We finally watched the tape from her ultrasound, I was amazed to see Charlie's little fingers and her heart beat. Charlie Elizabeth Grogan, I am really surprised she didn't go with Adrian like she had always said... Adrian Hope, oh, well, I KNOW better than to say too much, she is a Mini-Me so no one else's opinon matters, LOL! Gina is now 22 weeks.

Check out my Slide Show!

.This is Maeson, she is one of those kids I wish I could keep in my class for a long time! She attached to me and calls me MAMA, she loves to sit in my lap and even tries to push anyone else out of my lap! I Loved this outfit she had on and took several pictures of her, I used Cathie's kit "Precious" I thought it looked pretty good with the nice color and texture, Love the torn paper and Beads!
Tonight I took my Mom out for her Birthday. She turned 67 yesterday. I really had a nice time.
Our prompt from Carla is to tell your fears, I can't say there is anything I am really afraid of physically, I enjoy photographing insects so they don't bother me, I wouldn't hold a snake or anything but they don't bother me, I used to be afraid to sleep if I had a mouse in the house because my Mother would tell me stories about having rats in their first apartment and how she was afraid they would get in my crib, grew out of that one. So I don't know. If I fear any situation I pray about it to calm myself, that works well for me.

Tuesday

When Sierra came to school with this shirt on I loved the mix of pink, orange, yellow and back so I asked Cathie Alesia to make another kit based on "So Striking" but with these colors. She did and it is Wonderful! This is the second time she created a kit with my suggestions and one of the reasons she is one of my favorite designers! I hope you'll look at this kit and some of her other work! http://www.scrapbookersplayground.com/Cart/index.php?main_page=product_scrapbook_info&products_id=6753
Meanwhile a precious woman at work passed away this weekend! Her name was Rosa and she was a True Christian Lady! Even some of the Parents at school cried when they walked in to see her empty desk! I am blessed for knowing her!
